Baby Laith

Please look at this link. Baby Laith is in desperate need of a heart transplant. His parents have insurance, but it doesn't cover transplants. They make too much money to qualify for assistance.

This breaks my heart.

Is there no facility or doctor willing to do this pro bono? What about all of these doctors who travel to foreign countries to perform life saving surgeries on children? What about the doctors and facilities here in the US who welcome children from foreign countries with life-threatening illnesses and provide treatment free of charge to them?? Why can we not help our own first and foremost??

Where's Wyatt????

We can't find him anywhere.........

Will you help us find him?

LOL!!!!!! How cute is that!?!
After I got Wyatt dressed for bed, Randy took him to our room and put him down on the bed....Randy asked me to look for Wyatt....it was so funny that his little sleeper so closely resembles our sheets! I told Randy, it's like trying to find Waldo! hehe! You know I HAD to take a picture.

Walker wanted to get in on the photo action too...I was happy to oblige since he so rarely wants to be photographed these days....

So, I think we have the two cutest boys in the world!!

Sick hubby = more work for Mommy

First, let me say this...honey, I love you to bits, you know I do!
Now.......
Ladies, you know what I'm talking about, right? The hubby is terribly sick, so much so that he actually agrees to go see a doctor....you know they are REALLY sick if they want to see a doctor. Of course, this is after 2 days of fevers reaching 102, sore throat, upset tummy, etc......2 days of coming home to lie in bed and do nothing else and I do mean NOTHING else! So, Mommy picks up the slack for the night time things. And you know it probably wouldn't bother me so much if this were what I got to do when I was sick, but we all know Mommy's don't get that luxury when sick. When we're sick we still have to take care of the kidddos, even if we're contagious. [I don't get to say, "I can't hold the baby, I'm contagious." Come on, wash your hands and don't get right in his face, how hard is that?]We still have to drive them to and from school, change diapers, feed, clothe, bathe. Granted, other duties may fall to the wayside during a Mommy's illness, but the basics will ALWAYS be covered....they have to be, or they won't get done.

Am I alone in this frustration?

God love our husbands....they work hard, I know mine does. He has a physically demanding job and he is tired when he gets home from work when he's not sick, so I do have sympathy (come on, I'm not a complete you know what). I know he does the best he can every day and I love him for it.

Just needed to vent.....baby Wyatt's sleeping pattern has changed and I'm a little more tired than I have been in a while, so I'm on edge.

BTW, Randy is feeling much better. He even fed and held the baby last night after I assured him it was ok (again, don't get in his face and wash your hands often)! He got a shot in the butt (hehe!) yesterday and was given several prescriptions. Those shots always seem to make you feel better FAST. He's back to work today. I hope he continues to feel better and does not relapse. And I hope the rest of us don't catch it! Evidently some sort of bug is going around according to the doctor.

Thank you for allowing me to complain a little. Thank you to my husband for reading this and not getting mad ;). And lastly, thank you to the Academy! ;)

Take me out to the ball game............

Well, practice anyway! Yes folks, it's that time of year again! As I mentioned in a previous post, we waited until the last day to get Walker signed up for baseball. We got a call from Walker's new coach last night and his first practice is on Saturday! Woo-hoo!! I'm so excited about ball season getting started. I guess the only bad thing is that it's still so cold out......but to me ball season means warm weather, so that should mean that it should be warm again any day now, right?! C'mon and agree with me...you know you're ready for spring just as much as I am!
I know none of the details as far as team name, colors or when games actually start. Randy talked to the coach, not me, so details are sketchy. I won't bash my dear hubby though, he's sick and wasn't thinking clearly when he answered the phone. I'll find out all I need to know on Saturday.
Sick or not, Randy will have to make a stop by the storage bldg to get Walker's baseball things out. I just hope he can find it before Saturday! Please keep your fingers crossed and say a little prayer that the glove, bat and balls are in the bat bag and are in an easy to find location! We didn't think the first practice would be so soon, so we're a little unprepared.
Let's play ball!!!!
Here's a pic from last year's ball season....can't wait to start posting new ones!
This was from Walker's very first ball game.

My Little Chunk Monk!

Friday, February 20th

Wyatt was officially 2 months old yesterday. Time is going by so fast! So, with that means it's time for the dreaded 2 month check up! Shots--3 injections to be exact. Poor baby. He cried so hard. That little face was so read and I began to wonder when he would take a breath after holding it for so long! I didn't cry, but it certainly made me sad to see him in pain. The good news is he's growing!! My little 6lb 8oz 19.5in newborn is now a strapping 12lb 24in baby! Yep, He's almost doubled his weight in only 2 months!!! He's my little Chunk Monk!
Here's his pic while getting ready for the dr appointment

Walker also got to see the doc for a recheck of his ears...both are still infected. So another round of antibiotics for him.

Saturday, February 21st

Today is the last day for baseball sign ups....so, you know that's the day we went. Nothing like waiting til the last minute! Walker is all signed up and ready to go. We should be hearing from the league with the details soon.
After sign ups we headed out for Randy's eye appointment. I had insisted on all of us going so I could see what frames he picked out. Probably not the brightest idea I've ever had taking 2 kids with us.....especially a hyper-active 5 year old. Not a great mix in an eye glasses place. Oh well, we're no worse for the wear, and he didn't break anything, so I consider it a victory! Randy picked out 2 pairs of glasses, one for work and one for everyday wear. I didn't take a pic at the store as I had my hands full, but he picks them up on Monday and I'll take a pic then.
After that we went to Macaroni Grille for lunch. Here's a pic of Randy and Walker at the restaurant:

Here's a pic of Walker playing with the pizza dough they will bring out for kids:

We then made a trip to Target. The purpose of going this shopping trip was to get a small toy and socks for Walker...I also wanted to see what kind of baby shoes they had for Wyatt. Well, on our way out something down the kids bedding isle caught my eye, so we were looking around....Walker spotted the Star Wars the Clone Wars bedding. He was so excited and wanted it so bad. Of course nothing comes together--all sold separately! I told him he could pick one piece, the throw, the sheets or the comforter. He chose the comforter and I put it in the cart. I told him that maybe he could get the rest for his birthday. Next thing I know, Randy throws in the sheet set. We didn't get the throw blanket, but here's a pic of his new stuff:

Later that afternoon I had plans to meet Stacey and Heather for dinner. This was my first outing (other than delivering Walker to and from school) without Wyatt. I must say that it's so very different with the 2nd child! I didn't feel the least bit guilty for leaving both boys with their Daddy for a few hours while I enjoyed an evening of girl talk and a cocktail. I took my camera with me, but completely forgot to take pictures! I think I was just so excited to be out on my own, it completely left my mind.

Sunday, February 22nd

After having my girls evening and not feeling bad about leaving the baby, I decided it was time for the next step. Randy and I had major grocery shopping to do. Our cupboards were virtually empty and we needed to stock up on everything from apples to Ziploc bags and everything in between! So, Walker and Wyatt both spent the afternoon with Nana!
While Randy and I enjoyed an afternoon of shopping in peace, with no requests for toys or cries for a diaper or bottle, Nana handled the boys! Again, I am surprised as how easy this was for me. When Walker was this age I had such a hard time being gone from him for any amount of time. Now, I'm like bring on the free time!
Don't get me wrong, I missed them both like crazy....but we all need a break from time to time.

Bombs Away.....

Well, we got word that my brother, aka Major Matt, received a minor injury during an IED explosion this week. He was traveling via convoy in Afghanistan when the vehicle directly in front of his was struck by an IED explosion.

We are so thankful that Matt's vehicle did not receive a direct hit. The explosion did cause his vehicle to shake which somehow caused a missile launcher to fall on his knee. I believe I have accurately described the details as they were explained to me....since the baby, my memory hasn't been quite up to par, so Matt if I've misspoken, please let me know ;)

I'm happy to report there were no deaths in the explosion. Two soldiers from the vehicle ahead of Matt were injured, but my understanding is that they were not critical injuries. What a miracle!

Here is a photo that was taken of Matt the day prior to the incident:

Here is Matt and Canadian Corporals Clausmann and Kangas at Camp Nathan Smith, Kadahar City, Afghanistan

Here is Matt at the Afghan National Police HQ in Kandahar City, Afghanistan

Matt is expected to return stateside around the end of March. Please continue to pray for his safety. He will make it home just in time for the kids birthdays!
Only 5 more weeks, please keep safe brother!

On a lighter note......

Here's a super cute pic of my little angels sleeping:

How cute are the all snuggled up together?

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire! (vent/rant)

That's what I say to the man (Idiot Liar) that caused the accident my mom was involved in on Saturday afternoon. What a jerk that guy is! He told the insurance company that the accident was not his fault. Um, excuse me?!! So, just because he was driving a truck, pulling a utility trailer which was not properly secured and it came loose going across the road, head on into my moms car, he is not at fault? I think not! This man also told his insurance company that my mom was talking on the phone when the accident occurred. Again, I think not! Plus, we have proof--yep, we lowly civilians have the right to view our own cell phone records! Guess what? It PROVES that she was NOT talking on the phone at the time the accident occurred. And guess what else? Even if she was it doesn't matter--still not her fault that the Idiot Liar didn't properly secure the trailer he was pulling with his company truck....yep, that's right folks, a company truck. And here's a picture with a clear name of the company:

The back of the truck

Sounds to me that someone is trying to lie to keep from getting in trouble--the ole deflect routine. You know...we all id it as kids...you know you did something wrong, and you know you're caught....but your brother (or sister) was doing something bad too...so, I'll tell on them and maybe I won't get in as much trouble. You know it?? I know I tried it!
So, yesterday my mom speaks to a lady at the insurance company of Idiot Liar who tells mom that they may not be 100% liable if she was on the phone. She also wanted to know why mom didn't try to stop to avoid the accident. WTH??!!!
So, think about the options you have in a split second when a utility trailer is coming at you from the other side of the road....it's not like she was behind him and could see that there was a problem. It happened in an instant!
Here are some pics of moms car:

Oh, and did I mention that Idiot Liar also told his insurance company that there was no damage to moms car? How many lies is that now? 3!
Granted, there's very little body damage. Her windshield is busted..but the real damage is under the car. Idiot Liar must have forgotten about the gallons of gas and oil spilling from the car! That couldn't possibly mean damage, could it? Hmm.....
I will now tell you that as of this morning, the insurance company contacted mom to let her know they were accepting 100% liability for the accident. Hmm, I wonder how they came to that conclusion? Oh, I bet it was the witnesses, maybe the evidence? So, now an adjuster will be going to look at moms car. They will likely total it out. I just really think it's a shame that this man has represented his company in this way. I had never heard of this company before this accident, and it's unlikely that I would need their services (farm eqip), but I would be less likely to do business with them because of the way their employee and insurance company have treated my mother. We do have friends and family who may do business with them, if so please keep this in mind.
*****Thank you to a fellow blogger for giving me this information: for more information on dangerous trailers, please check out www.dangeroustrailers.org
I had no idea of the number of accidents and deaths that occur due to trailers that are not properly secured.

8 weeks

Ok, I know I haven't blogged in a while. Give me a break, I've been busy and sleepy. Working while caring for Wyatt at the same time is certainly a challenge! Much harder than I thought it would be. I still haven't found a good balance. And now that he's awake more during the day it's even harder. This week Randy and I are going to try something new to see if it makes it a little easier. I'm going to work a little during the day while Wyatt is sleeping and then I'll work a 2-3 nights a week for at least a couple of hours a night. I am hoping that if I get some uninterupted time, it'll make it easier. We'll see how it goes.
Well, it has been several weeks since I posted a blog, so let me see what's been going on.......
Walker's teacher, Mrs. Stone had her baby girl on Feb 1st....her actual due date! Congrats Ceren! She's georgous!

My dear friend Tammy...all the way up in good ole Columbia City, Indiana....sent Walker and Wyatt gifts! Here is Walker saying thank you for the Spiderman blanket she sent him...we emailed this to her:

Here's a picture of Wyatt sporting a faux-hawk:

Walker had his Valentine's Day party at school on Thursday. Mom made candy for all the kids and teachers. She is now officially a candy-making addict and needs help! I brought up the idea of rehab, but as Renee so kindly pointed out, who would make all the cool candy?! LOL Here are a couple of pics from my camera. I don't have very many b/c Wyatt was with me and mom took more pics with her camera than mine.
this is Walker with his yard-stick gum that he got from the treasure chest for selling a box of candy. It was NASTY!! It was so old and hard, he couldn't even chew it...and believe me, he tried at first. Really, can we please get some fresh gum if it's gonna be a prize they can pick?

Here's Walker blowing his Valentine whistle--oh, yeah...that thing is GONE! :)

Walker had Friday off from school for a teachers in-service day. They were supposed to be off today for President's Day, but they are in school to make up from the flood day taken a few weeks ago. On Friday Walker decided to climb on the bathroom counter to get one of his Bakugans down from the shelf (it was there b/c I had rinsed it off) and he fell. He had a pretty bad scrape on his side and under his arm. He wanted to lie down in my bed and wanted Wyatt with him....so here's a pic:
Aren't they cute....and yep, there's the blanket Tammy sent--Walker LOVES IT!!

There have been a couple of other events, but I neglected to take my camera. I keep forgetting to put it in the diaper bag before I go somewhere. UGH...there's so much to remember, and my memory isn't that great these days.
Most recently, my mom was in a car accident over the weekend. Her car is totalled! A truck was pulling a utility trailer that came unhitched. Evidently, the trailer hit the tires of the truck pulling it, which sent it side ways in the road and hit moms car--her car went over it trailer and when everything finally stopped, she had 1 tire still on the road...the rest of the car was sideways on the trailer! I'm happy to report that mom is fine. She is in some pain from the impact and a burn on her arm from the air bag...but it could have been much worse! Mom called us and Randy went directly to the scene. He said there was oil and gas leaking from her car--it was all over the road. We also learned that the company the driver (of the truck) works for is a farm equipment company--thankgoodness there was no eqipment on the trailer. It could have been much worse! Now, she has to wait for the insurance to settle up so she can get another car.

I will try my best to blog as often as possible and update with pictures. Here's a pic of me and Wyatt from yesterday. I really need to start my diet!

Here are some more misc. pictures:

Take Care!!
