I know, I know.....where have you been?? Sick. 3 out of the 4 of us have been sick. Sinusitis, bronchitis, and over all yuckyness has plagued our household. We are on an upswing from all the nastiness, but it's still lingering. I am positive that, eventually, we all will be able to breath freely again at some point.
Thanksgiving, well, Randy was still pretty sick. We went to his parents briefly before heading out to Ooltewah to Aunt Shirley's home.
I'd forgotten how stressful it can be to leave the cocoon of child-proofedness with an almost-one year old......stepping out of that little bubble is a lot of work in a non-childproofed home. :)
Now, Wyatt is not yet walking, but that doesn't stop him from trying to be everywhere and get into everything. Thank goodness Aunt Shirley's TV is securely mounted to the wall and the credenza below only had a few things that needed to be moved out of reach. Oh, the joys! :)
Black Friday shopping went ok.....I was so bummed that Randy wasn't feeling well enough to go, so it was just Mom and me. I know that you ladies are probably thinking that he just SAID he didn't feel well to get out of going with us, but believe it or not, he actually enjoys BF shopping! He's a wonderfully strange breed and I'm a lucky girl ;)
We've begun the Christmas decorating process. Thankfully, I found a great deal on Craigslist and got a 6 panel baby gate for $20. Yep, you read correctly---$20!!! The hubby found it--he is AWESOME! :) Those things are usually $70, so I had to clean it up, who cares. I look at it this way, that $50 I saved is that much more for Christmas.
So, that wonderful gate it already in use. We have rearranged the furniture in the living room to make room for the tree....so, the 6 panel gate blocks (most) of the tree from Wy's little hands and keeps him corralled in the living room. Ahhhh, so nice. The remainder of the decorating will happen throughout the week. I still don't feel 100% better and just can't get into the swing of things---just get tired and out of breath b/c of the bronchitis....so, I'm just doing a little at a time.
Also, this week is Randy's birthday. He will celebrate his 41st birthday on Wednesday!!

Throwback Thursday--special edition
Wyatt is 11 months old today!!!!
He's such a big boy now!
On This Day in History.......November, 19th :
1863 President Abraham Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address as he dedicated a national cemetery at the site of the Civil War battlefield in Pennsylvania.
I usually list more than one, but this is the only thing that really stood out to me today.
I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Bless You!
Ok, so I had to share a funny moment......
This is an excerpt of a conversation had by me and my wonderful husband on our drive home from a birthday party today:
R: Thank you.
Me: What?
R: Thank you.
M: For what?
R: (getting irritated) You just said 'Bless you', so I'm saying 'Thank you.'.
M: What? Did you sneeze?
R: [chuckle]
M: Did I SAY 'Bless you'?
R: Yes. What kind of drugs are you taking?
M: I'm not taking drugs, honey. I'm just deliriously exhausted.
We both had a good laugh. I swear, I do not remember the sneeze, nor do I remember my evident "automatic" response to said sneeze.

Moms
Moms take a lot of crap.....but we turn that crap into fertilizer to keep our families strong and thriving.
Have a great day!

Veteran's Day
Thank a VETERAN today. If not for them, we wouldn't be able to post whatever we wanted on our blogs.
I say a special thank you to my brothers for serving. I myself was in the USAR, but never think of myself as a veteran because it was Reserves and I never served full time, never deployed and even went IRR early. But, my brothers serve as active duty military. My brother, Major George Johnson, has served his country in the US Army for about 12 years. He has been deployed to Bosnia, Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan. My baby brother is just getting started in the US Air Force. I'm very proud of them both.
I also thank my father-in-law who was in the US Army as well and spent a lot of time in Germany.

Update
I visited my mother-in-law at the hospital this morning.
Not only does she have pneumonia, but she has also contracted a staph infection. Her o2 levels are still not where they would like them to be......but she says that she is feeling better.
It looks like she will remain in the hospital for now, possibly another day or two.
I ask for continued prayers.

Prayers Needed
My Mother-in-law is in the hospital with pneumonia. Please pray for a quick recovery. She has spent much too much time in the hospital as of late. We would love to see her healthy and able to enjoy the holidays this year. :)
Thank you!
Thank you!

Throwback Thursday
One year ago this week, this is a picture I posted on my blog. Wow!
Ahh, the glow of pregnancy......and I so miss the "big girls!" LOL
On this day in history:
1872 Susan B. Anthony was fined $100 for attempting to vote in the presidential election. She never paid the fine.
1935 The game "Monopoly" was introduced by Parker Brothers Company.
1940 President Franklin D. Roosevelt won an unprecedented third term in office, beating Republican challenger Wendell L. Willkie.

1968 Republican Richard M. Nixon won the presidency, defeating Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey and third-party candidate George C. Wallace.
1994 George Foreman became boxing's oldest heavyweight champion at age 45 by knocking out Michael Moorer in the 10th round of their WBA fight in Las Vegas.

Roseola almost ruined Halloween!
Last week Wyatt came down with a high fever. I kept him home from school on Wednesday thinking he probably just had a little bug or something and would probably be better by the next day. Well, his fever kept going up. Went to the doc on Thursday. They thought he probably had the flu, so we went for the flu swab to find out.
Here is Wyatt at the hospial waiting for the flu swab.....they asked if he could wear a mask. Wha??? He's 10 months old, I doubt that is going to happen....got a pic of the "mask attempt".
Nope, no flu. Probably just a viral infection of some sort.....Fever got up to 104 that night/early next morning.
By Friday evening, no fever at all. Was fine like nothing had happened. YAY!
Halloween, which we weren't sure was going to be so great, went off without a hitch!
Yesterday, another new symptom popped up---a rash.
Called the doc. Based on his previous symptoms and the newest of the rash, it's Roseola!
So, at least we now know what wrong with the little guy.
